If you’re somewhere between 25 and 33, and are at all a fan of video games, I bet you vividly remember the first time you laid your eyes on Super Mario 64.
The game was beautiful, smooth-looking, immersive, challenging, and a heck of a good time.
Whether you were in one of the painting worlds, looking for that next juicy gold star to make Mario celebrate, or exploring one of the castles many, many rooms and corridors, or taking Bowser on to free the princess, this game was hours … and days … and months… and years of fun.
What’s your favorite Super Mario 64 memory?
Otto Rocket was last seen, on the television show Rocket Power, obsessed with extreme sports – he had his heart set on a career with them.
Now that Otto is a twenty something, he has finished high school through home schooling because he was on tour with the Element skate team (he was the only 11 year old who could keep up with Tony Hawk, trick for trick, through a maze of impossible obstacles, after all).
Following an incident when Otto tried to “jump the shark” by literally performing an ollie using a 13 foot great white shark that didn’t go as well as he had hoped that it would, Otto retired from extreme sports to begin his new life.
Otto now works as the spokesperson for F.E.A.A.P.L.T.P.T.D.S.T.W.T.F.T.F.I.T.A.A.T.L.B.T.F.C.T.T.T.O.W.A.G.W.S.A.I.E.T.L.O. (which stands for Former Extreme Athletes Against Parents Letting Their Pre-Teens do Skateboard Tricks Where They Fly Thirty Feet in the Air and Then Later Have the False Confidence to Try to Ollie with a Great White Shark and It Eats Their Legs Off).
Otto is married to an alpaca farmer and lives with her in Omaha, Nebraska. When asked by a reporter from a nostalgia-oriented sports magazine why he chooses to live so far from his former home in sunny California, Otto remarked “Dude… sharks. I’ve had enough of… sharks.”
Otto spends his weekends painting the Omaha scenery and practicing yoga. “I just really love to sit still, you know? What’s with all the craziness? Life’s so hectic if you let it be. But not for me – not for Oswald. I just like to sit… and chill.”
